Aaron Invisible
at Music Inn

At the tender young age of 16, Aaron Invisible was stealing away from his suburban New Jersey home to play coffeehouses and open mics in downtown Manhattan. Soon enough, his tenor rhasp matched with folk chords strummed on the bouzouki, a Greek instrument that plays like an exotic mandolin, had made him a staple on the city's Anti-Folk scene.

Within a year he was playing the annual Anti-Folk festival alongside local East Village legends JayMay and the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players. With his recent matriculation at Vassar College, Aaron is less visible (pun intended) around the lower east side, though his time there is punctutated by tours around the Northeast and recording sessions for an upcoming album.

This episode of Site&Sound finds Aaron at the Music Inn, a West Village shop crammed full with esoteric musical instruments. Blogotheque actually did a recent episode there with the Tallest Man on Earth.
